Friday Five – 2022 PBA Player of the Year Voting Results

Friday Five, November 11, 2022 – The final voting results for the top five finalists for the 2022 Chris Schenkel PBA Player of the Year Award.

Voting for the PBA Player of the Year Award is limited to PBA Tour players and select media members. Six players received votes for the 2022 award, with Kris Prather coming in sixth at 1.31%. Dom Barrett, who won two titles including the Tournament of Champions and completed the Triple Crown, finished fifth with 3.93% of the votes. Two-time 2022 champion EJ Tackett, who led the PBA Tour in average (225.27), was fourth in the voting with 4.8%. PBA Playoffs champion and 2021 Player of the Year Kyle Troup was third with 8.3%. Anthony Simonsen won the U.S. Open and USBC Masters in 2022 and finished second with 18.78% of the votes. Five-time winner (including the PBA Players Championship as his 14th major) Jason Belmonte also led the Tour in earnings, competition points, total games and top-five finishes. Belmonte received 62.88% of the votes to earn his record-tying (along with Walter Ray Williams Jr.) seventh PBA Player of the Year Award.

  1. The 5 Bowlers had a fantastic 2022 Season on the Pba Tour especially Kyle Troup, Anthony Simonsen, Jason Belmonte, and Dom Barrett.

  2. I’m not going to lie whoever voted I don’t understand because dom bear won two titles singles titles including a major and he was only 5th but EJ tacky is fourth with two doubles titles and leading the PbA with average I’m sorry leading the PBA to average is all good and stuff but winning the Toc is way harder than what EJ tacket did this year I think Dom Barrett kind of got screwed the top three voting was good for me though

    1. I’m sure you don’t mean leading the PBA for a whole season in average isn’t hard but I wouldn’t say it’s easier to do than winning TOC
