As of this post, of the 35 perfect games bowled in televised title events, only five have been bowled in title matches.
Bob Benoit shot 300 to defeat Mark Roth in the 1988 Quaker State Open.
Mike Aulby's perfect game beat David Ozio's 279 (which is tied with Johnny Petraglia as the highest score ever to lose to 300 in a televised finals) in the 1993 Wichita Open.
Tommy Jones won his 20th PBA Tour title with a perfect game over Darren Tang in the 2020 PBA Hall of Fame Classic on the same weekend Jones was inducted into the PBA Hall of Fame.
Sam Cooley was perfect in game two of a best-of-five match against Kyle Troup in the 2021 PBA Playoffs. Troup went on to win that title, three games to one, making Cooley the first player to bowl 300 in a title match and not win the title.
Jason Belmonte's 300 in game one of a race-to-two PBA Tour Finals championship match against Dom Barrett was Belmonte's second televised perfect game. The perfect game didn't clinch the title for Belmonte, but he also won game two to win the PBA Tour Finals.

I suppose technically you can say that Cooley is the only one to shoot 300 but still lose his championship match?
