Roth won his first PBA Tour title in the 1975 King Louie Open and rolled a 299 game in the championship match. In 1978, he set a PBA record that still stands, winning eight titles in a single season. Shown in this video is the Quaker State Open, which Roth won over Marshall Holman. It was Roth's second title of 1978. In 1980, Roth became the first player in PBA Tour history to convert the 7-10 split during the televised finals, a feat only accomplished three times since. He won two majors among his four titles in 1984, also earning his fourth PBA Player of the Year Award (which he previously won in 1977 through 1979). His 34th and final title came in the 1995 IOF Foresters Open with a win over Walter Ray Williams Jr.

Mark Roth is one of the best bowlers in the world and the moments he had on the Pba Tour were amazing that includes the Conversion of the 7 10 split and the titles he has won on the Pba Tour
We lost one of the few legends of the sport. RIP

I won a rhino black urethane ball back in 91 after a pacer game at a bowling exhibition that was after the game. Mark roth and mike aulby we’re hosting the exhibition for kids and they had a carpet lane with a rubber ball set up and the kids there each got to throw a shot and if you struck you moved on to the next round and I threw a couple of strikes and was one of the winners of a ball. The only bad part was carrying the ball from market square arena all the way to where we parked at, lol.
RIP to the man who revolutionized the sport, by being the first power player.
Things will never be the same because of you.
One of the greatest bowlers to ever live. I am thankful to have met Mark in person at the Empire State Open in Latham, New York years back. Bowling may have lost an Icon but his legend lives on forever. May you Rest In Peace my friend and fellow bowler.

Absolutely my favorite bowler of all time…Saw the 7-10 live when I was a little lad….My Grandmother would would root for Earl Anthony and I would root for Mr Roth …He made bowling cool in the 80’s…Sad we lost him….May he rest in eternal peace….🙏🙏🙏

Saturday morning jr. bowling league, then going home and watching Pro Bowler Tour on ABC in the 70s and 80s… that’s how I spent my winters as a kid. The first scene was crushing.
God bless Mark Roth, the father of the cranker delivery, and no one could duplicate it, with also one of the most unique multi-step deliveries. An inspiration to bowlers everywhere.
