THANK YOU FOR LOADING THIS! When I teach physics of a strike, it was this analogy I always used! I could not find it on YouTube until now.
Glad it was helpful!
I wish they’d have covered how a rock solid 8 pin is left (there’s only one way).
Mike Durbin was the best at explaining it quickly. Head-pin hits the two; butt of the headpin nudges the 5 to the right, giving it enough room for the ball to “chop” it off.
@Daniel Schrafel Exactly. The headlin re-enters the shot.
@Daniel Schrafel I’m no bowling expert but that is not the way Mark Roth left the 8 in this video…..https://youtu.be/g5wI47HN9Oc?t=117
It was scientifically proven how the Randy Pedersen Solid 8 is left.
It is very simple actually and if you slow down vids you will see that every time it is the same thing.
The head pin hits the 5 pin and knocks it away from the 8.
It is just bad luck. Most of the time the headpin fall forward and the bottom hits the 5 and knocks it straight back away from the 8.
They show it here: https://youtu.be/FVO6Bghwz7Q
Totally cool! But oh, how the sport has changed…
Now they say, “His ball perfectly split the 8-9.” “His ball ran over the 8 pin.”
In the words of Palpatine: “Power, Unlimited Power!”
